About the Battle
Marlborough and Prince Eugene marched from the Rhine to the Danube and struck the French before they expected battle. The Franco-Bavarian army was destroyed and Bavaria knocked out of the war. The first major defeat of a French field army under Louis XIV. Marlborough built Blenheim Palace with the queens reward. The battle saved Vienna and redrew the war.
