About the Battle

Richard III became the last English king to die in battle. Leading his household knights in a desperate charge at Henry Tudor, he came within yards of his rival before being cut down. The Stanleys turned against him at the decisive moment. The crown was found in a thorn bush and placed on Henrys head. The Tudor dynasty began and ended thirty years of civil war. The kings grave was found under a car park in 2012.
