About the Battle

Parthian horse archers annihilated 7 Roman legions, killing or capturing 30,000 men. Crassus, the richest man in Rome, was killed. The Parthian shot, firing backwards while retreating, became legendary. Roman standards were captured and not returned for decades. Rome never fully avenged this humiliation.
