Battle of Midway
About the Battle
A decisive naval battle just 6 months after Pearl Harbor. American codebreakers had cracked Japanese communications. Dive bombers caught the Japanese carriers while their planes were refueling on deck. Four Japanese carriers were sunk in one day, reversing the balance of power in the Pacific. Called the most stunning and decisive blow in the history of naval warfare.
