About the Battle
The largest naval battle of WWI and the only full-scale clash of battleships. Britain lost more ships and men but maintained naval blockade of Germany. Both sides claimed victory. 25 ships were sunk and nearly 10,000 men died in a single day. The German fleet never again challenged the Royal Navy in force.
